Ever met someone and wonder, "Gosh--where the heck have you been?"  This year I met Jeff Lip at a Counselor Conference here in my hometown of Houston, TX.  At the time, Jeff and I were both attending a Counselor training required for our respective International Baccalaureate (IB) schools.  We both shared an instant connection as we were the only Asian-American Counselors in the room among the group of 40 Counselors in our group.  First of all, it is very rare to find other IB Counselors in secondary education-but to find another Asian-American colleague who both has a passion for education, counselor and entrepreneurship--this folks-- is like finding a unicorn.

We immediately hit it off, and soon into my conversation with my new-found Unicorn, Jeff shared to me that he launched his Dr. Jeff Lip Podcast this year that revolved on topics on Career, Education, Counseling and Relationships.  Upon listening to his podcast, I loved his energy, authenticity, and genuine spirit that came across when he interviewed his friends, colleagues, mentors and friends.  I found his guests to be down to earth and real--and not afraid to talk about their spiritual life. I also found that his guests also shared pearls of wisdom helpful to my own professional and personal life.

Jeff is an amazing Counselor at the top-ranked International Academy of Macomb in Michigan who also works as a College Professor part-time at Macomb and Oakland Community College.   I was honored that Jeff invited me to participate as one of his guests.  Here is our conversation that took place in July. In our time together, I share my personal experiences in my life that shaped me in my multiple roles as a Private Practitioner/Entrepreneur/Coach/Mom/Wife.  Check out my very first podcast where I share lessons in culture, family, work, and life.  I look forward to having Jeff on my own podcast that I'm planning to launch later this year.  Stay tuned, folks!
